The Georgia Board of Education is scheduled to meet Friday morning, with district flexibility one of the main items on the agenda.

Board members will receive a staff presentation on the options school districts have in the state’s push to give them more flexibility in exchange for a promise to improve student performance.

By June 30, 2015, districts must choose between two flexibility options or declare that they will remain with the status quo.

The board meeting is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. at 2070 Twin Towers East in Atlanta.
