Hotel rooms for 2020 Masters already scarce, pricey

People who are lucky enough to get tickets to tournament might be out of luck finding somewhere to stay
July 18, 2019

The wait is over for golf fans wondering if their number would come up in the Masters ticket lottery.

Now the real work begins — finding a hotel room.

The 2020 Masters Tournament is nine months away, but hotels in Augusta are already booked up or are pretty expensive.

The Partridge Inn, for example, is already sold out April 9-12, 2020. According to Travelocity.com, the Red Roof Inn on Washington Road, not far from Augusta National, has one room left — for $405 a night. That rate is on par with other hotels still listing available rooms.

There are plenty of other options, however.

Airbnb has lots of option. For example: For the same price as the Red Roof hotel room, you can rent this entire house in North Augusta. Bring seven of your closest friends, and your three-night stay comes to about $170 total.

If you're traveling alone to see golf's greatest players, there is a bedroom available in a private residence for just $59 a night.

Many of these rooms and homes book quickly, however, so you won’t want to wait too long to make reservations.
