Mike Buck, who received the most votes in the Republican Party primary for Georgia school superintendent, recently announced a series of endorsements from elected officials.

Wayne Garner, mayor of the city of Carrollton, state Sen. Jeff Mullis, R-Chickamauga, Carroll County Sheriff Terry Langley and a host of current and retired school board members from Rome City Schools, Carroll and Houston counties and Tom Lewis of the State Charter Schools Commission have all announced their support for Buck as he competes in a July 22 runoff against longtime Irwin County educator Richard L. Woods.

Buck is the chief academic officer at the Georgia Department of Education and the acting chief of staff of the current superintendent, John Barge, who is not seeking re-election.
