Woman killed during motorcycle race

A long-time volunteer at Road Atlanta was killed Saturday when she was hit by a motorcycle.

The Hall County medical examiner identified the victim as Hazel Harrell, 60, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Harrell had been volunteering at the track for 15 years, and was a fixture on Turn 7.

She was working as a corner marshal when she was killed during a race, according to Channel 2.

It happened around 4 p.m. at the track, which is in Braselton in Hall County.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash.
