School districts across metro Atlanta will be closed Wednesday due to biting temperatures and fears of icy roads.

The DeKalb County School District announced first about 9:15 p.m., saying it will close Wednesday “due to frigid temperatures, snow and icy road conditions.”

Shortly after, Marietta City, Fulton County, Atlanta and Gwinnett schools called for closings due to the icy conditions and temperatures below 20 degrees. Cobb County schools, Clayton and Cherokee County schools are also closed.

Snow Tuesday night followed by very cold temperatures could make travel difficult.
