Despite the potential for slippery roads on Friday, City Schools of Decatur has no plans to close for the day or otherwise change the schedule.

“As of now, we do not expect the weather to impact school operations,” a system spokeswoman told The Atlanta Journal Constitution on Thursday afternoon. She added, though, that  forecasts can change quickly and the district will continue monitoring the weather.

Channel 2 Action News is forecasting periodic snow, sleet or freezing rain and cautions that roads could get slippery, especially on bridges and overpasses, and visibility could be limited.

AtlantaGwinnett and other metro school districts are also watching the forecasts.
