Brookhaven police released Tuesday a sketch of the suspect in last week's rape of a woman walking along Buford Highway.
Authorities previously described the suspect as a man with an “overgrown Mohawk,” “bushy eyebrows” and large lips, but Tuesday’s description and sketch included different features. The wanted man was described as approximately 37 or 38 years of age with a medium complexion and an average build.
His hair was “short on the sides and slightly longer on top,” police said.
The female victim was reportedly walking down Buford Highway near North Cliff Valley Way between 9 and 10 p.m. Friday when the suspect grabbed her arm and pulled her into a wooded area. The woman was struck in the face and forcibly raped.
The victim told police that the assault was halted when two men approached the scene. Those men were not present when police arrived and have not come forward in the days since, Brookhaven police spokesman Maj. Brandon Gurley said.
