Skateboarder killed trying to beat train at Decatur crossing ID’d

A skateboarder who was killed Saturday after he tried to beat a train in Decatur was identified Monday as 29-year-old Alfred Wallace of Atlanta.

Decatur police Sgt. Jennifer S. Ross told Channel 2 Action News the man was crossing the railroad tracks at East Trinity Place and East College Avenue when he was struck about 10:30 a.m. Witnesses reported the railroad crossing arms were down at the time.
