Shooting investigation shuts down Buckhead street

An early Wednesday morning shooting investigation shut down a Peachtree Road in Buckhead while police searched for both a shooter and a victim.

Atlanta police investigate a shooting that took place around 4 a.m. and shut down Peachtree Road in front of the Cathedral of Christ the King for multiple hours on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. The shooter’s car was left at the scene and a person of interest was picked up a few blocks away and is in custody, said Captain Christian Hunt, the Atlanta Police Department night commander. Police are still looking for a potential victim.

Atlanta police shut down Peachtree Road south of Wesley Road while they searched with flashlights for a shooting victim and a shooter. Several shell casings were recovered from the middle of the street, as well as two handguns, police said.
