Warm, sunny weather — and no rain — is part of a brilliant forecast for the fall weekend.

Saturday afternoon’s temperatures will reach the low 70s in Atlanta, making it unseasonably warm for November, according to Channel 2 Action News chief meteorologist Glenn Burns.

“By lunchtime, looking at 67 degrees with a mostly sunny sky,” he said.

With no rain in the forecast, Saturday is expected to be a great day for those looking to get outdoors before the holiday week. It’s expected to reach 73 degrees this afternoon, making it about 10 degrees warmer than average for this time of year.

Those heading out on Sunday will also encounter plenty of sunshine, with temps reaching 69 degrees for the second half of the weekend.

The temperature will drop to 48 overnight Saturday and Sunday is expected to start of cool, with a low of about 52 degrees, according to the latest forecast.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has several projects planned this weekend that could cause delays on metro Atlanta’s interstates.

There will be rolling closures on the right shoulder of I-285 East near Riverside Drive from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, GDOT said.

Construction activities on I-85 near North Druid Hills Road in DeKalb County will moderately impact traffic between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, GDOT added. The right lane will be closed.

Construction will shut down the northbound ramp to Ga. 400 near Sidney Marcus Boulevard from 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday, according to GDOT. All entrance lanes will be closed.

Maintenance activities on the I-285 ramp southbound near South Atlanta Road in Cobb County is also expected to have a moderate impact on traffic from 9 a.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday. GDOT said. The left exit lane will be shut down.
