Fulton County Schools officials say two community meetings are set in November and December to address the redistricting process for two new schools in Roswell.
One of the two schools is the recently-constructed "Highway 9 Elementary School" at Ga. 9 and Thomas Drive. It's the temporary home of Esther Jackson Elementary, which is being rebuilt. In August of 2016, that school will have a new identity and a student body from a newly developed attendance zone. Esther Jackson will reopen at its original site on Martin Road.
During the first meeting, 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 5 at Esther Jackson (Ga. 9 and Thomas Drive) staffers will present a number of redistricting alternatives, community members will give feedback, and the district will narrow the options based on public input.
At the second session, 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 3 at Esther Jackson, staff will hear input about the narrowed alternatives and will then develop final attendance zone options for consideration by the school board.
