Roswell police want to find the person responsible for setting playground equipment on fire.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 31, firefighters were called to Northwood Elementary School on Wooten Road, where a passerby spotted flames, according to police.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but some of the school’s playground equipment was destroyed. No one was at the school and no injuries were reported, police said.

Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Detective Z. Kowalske at 770-640-4100.
