Atlanta police investigators hope an increased reward will lead to an arrest of the person who shot and killed a 69-year-old veteran in June.

On Tuesday, Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta announced the reward is up to $5,000 in the June 4 death of Gary Walker. According to police, Walker died after being shot near the front door of his home, located on Lorenzo Drive in southwest Atlanta, shortly before midnight.

Investigators believe the shooter was wearing a white surgical mask and a gray hoodie, Officer Anthony Grant previously said. The suspect may have fled the scene in a small black car with a loud exhaust, police said.

Walker served in both the Navy and Air Force, his family told investigators.
