A heavy police presence continues in Cobb County as the man suspected in the Midtown shooting remains at large.

Cobb police said they have checked several false alarms from people claiming to have spotted the shooter. The suspect was identified by Atlanta police as 24-year-old Deion Patterson.

Glass doors were shattered in the 200 building at the Cobb Galleria Centre on Wednesday afternoon. A building manager would not confirm with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution if the cause was related to the Midtown shooting that injured four people and killed one at the Northside Hospital medical building earlier in the day.

A manager talking on the phone stated that the glass shattering sounded like gunshots to people in the building.

Kendall Young, an employee at RaceTrac located near the Galleria, said the company has an office located in the building. While leaving work, Young said he did not hear gunshots but saw police activity on the office campus and cars rushing by.

Police remain in the area of I-285 and I-75 near Cumberland Mall and Truist Park. Windy Ridge Parkway and Circle 75 Parkway are closed to traffic as officers search for the suspect.
