The College Park Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting that left a 23-year-old man dead.

According to Channel 2 Action News, a dispute over candy may have preceded the incident, which occurred about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 4000 block of Lakemont Drive.

Children were fighting over the candy when adults got involved and shots were fired, the television station reported.
