Police are investigating the deaths of two people found dead in a car in southwest Atlanta Friday morning as a murder-suicide.

Atlanta police spokesman Ralph Woolfolk said homicide investigators were called to Pine Canyon Drive off Hogan Road.

According to police dispatchers, the two people were found dead in a blue Chevrolet Impala just before 9 a.m.

The man driving the car apparently shot and killed his female passenger, then turned the gun on himself, detectives told Channel 2 Action News.

Their identities have not been released.
