In the aftermath of the 2015 legislative session, transportation leaders today write about the impact of the General Assembly’s move to increase funding for road and bridge maintenance and to remove restrictions on MARTA. While the transit agency failed to win a permanent annual revenue stream or the ability to start expansion, it takes solace in some gains and knowing the state’s power bloc now recognizes that transit must be part of the equation to solve congestion.
