A House subcommittee voted last week to expand the state’s controversial private school tax credit program, designed to help students afford the switch from public school to private school. In a guest column today, a school choice advocate advises that any expansion needs to be accompanied by more transparency in how students in the program perform academically. In my column, I discuss the national push for greater accountability for under-performing charter schools, and readers sound off on cheating.
