TERRELL, Arlene Dawn

Age 90, of Stone Mountain passed away November 4 in Florida. She was born September 3, 1931. Arlene was quite a talented seamstress. She knitted, crocheted, made cross-stitched quilts, drapes, bedspreads, hooked rugs, needlepointed, etc. After the passing of her mother, she decided to learn how to clog. She formed the Strawberry Patch Senior Cloggers. They performed for civic and charitable events in the Atlanta area and festivals in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Arlene enjoyed country/western music, the Gaithers Gospel music, ballroom dancing, and NASCAR racing. She was a fighter, overcoming 2 months of COVID pneumonia. Arlene loved shopping, striving to keep Rich's in business. She was a very kind-hearted and appreciative soul, dearly calling those "Sweetheart." She was quite witty and always looked on the "sunny side of life."Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. (ret) Ralph dePoix Terrell, Jr., her parents Col. (ret) Harry and Marion Rucker, and brother Robert Rucker. Those left to cherish Arlene's memory include her brother, Clifford Earle of Florida, daughter Sheree Clayton and husband Martin Clayton of Florida, and son Ralph dePoix Terrell, III and wife Lynn of Georgia. She is also survived by two granddaughters Christina with great-granddaughter, Hana, and Brianne with great-grandsons Andre and Neil. Arlene's and her husband's cremains can be interred side by side at Arlington Cemetery in Sandy Springs, GA. Together again in paradise.
