Ingram, Cecil

INGRAM, Cecil Thompson
Cecil Thompson Ingram, 98, was born March 9, 1923 and passed from this life on September 7, 2021. He retired from SunTrust Bank where he was a certified bank auditor for over 30 years. Having served in World War II, he was one of the "greatest generation". Cecil will be remembered by all who knew him as thoughtful, kind and caring, always smiling, and laughing at jokes and funny stories. He loved college football (especially Alabama) and enjoyed playing golf in his younger years. But most importantly he will be remembered as a man with a strong foundation of faith who faced many of life's difficulties with strength and resolve.
He is predeceased by his parents, sister (Dorothy Ingram Switzer) and brother (Claude Ingram); wife, Jean Camp Ingram (1947-1997) and wife Huvian Parker Ingram (1998-2016); sons-in-law Rev. Frank Boyd Orr (1997) and Donald V. Shillington (2020). He is survived by his two daughters, Mary Ann Shillington and Jan I. Orr; grandchildren: Donna Shillington (husband, Jim Gaherty), Brian Shillington (Schelley), Renee Orr Hilley (Nathan) and Scott B. Orr (Lindsay) and four great-granddaughters (Anna & Chloe Hilley, Molly & Evelyn Orr).
Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, September 17 at Norcross First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Rev.
