HEINOLD, James

James Paul "Hank" Heinold, age 98 of Atlanta, Georgia, died peacefully at MeSun Hospice on October 4, 2021. He was born on June 23, 1923 to the late Frank H. and Katheryne Heinold. He was a native Atlantan and proud to be one of the "Kirkwood Guys." James graduated from Marist High School and the University of Georgia, Atlanta Division, later known as Georgia State University. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Artillery in the Philippines receiving the Purple Heart. James was an accountant and worked for Standard Federal Savings and Loan Association and the Southern Federal Savings and Loan Association. He also was a bank examiner with the Federal Government. James is survived by his sister, Mildred Bethea and sister-in-law Libby Heinold; nephews, Doug Almand, Tim Almand, and Michael Heinold; nieces, Debbie Woerner and Kathy Crenshaw and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Chick Smith, brother and sister-in-law Frank and Sue Heinold; brother, Charles Heinold; niece Barbara Snow and nephew Bryan Heinold. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice. A graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Memory Gardens on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Arrangements handled by A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
