DINSMORE, Jr., Howard Leonard
Age 85, passed away on August 26, 2021 in Naples, FL after a long and courageous battle with multiple illnesses since his stroke in 2013.
Howard is the son of Howard Dinsmore Sr. and Gladys Dinsmore. Howard was born in Atlanta Georgia. He attended a branch of Georgia Institute of Technology and went on to become a successful executive with Abbott Laboratories. His work took him to live in Georgia, Louisiana, California, Illinois, and Ohio and he enjoyed traveling across the US as well as many other countries.
In his spare time, he enjoyed tennis, snow skiing, golf, and spending time on his boat. Many of these activities were passed on to his children who now also enjoy them. Howard spent the last years split between his home in the mountains of North Carolina and his condo in Naple's Florida.
His work ethic was unmatched in business and personal life. This work ethic was passed on to his children and many he mentored in his professional career. Howard retired from Abbott Laboratories and enjoyed staying active and engaged with his family and friends.
Howard is survived by his sisters, Teena Carter and Reather Weathers, his children Rusty (Jill) and Rick (Julie) and grandchildren, Ryan, Haley, Meghan, and Kendra as well as nephews and a niece. The family will hold a private service at a later date in Atlanta GA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in his memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) as Type 1 Diabetes affected members of his family.
