DEATON, Billy
Billy Russell Deaton, 88, died on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at his home in Snellville, surrounded by family. He was born October 3, 1932, on a farm in Barrow County. He met Jeannette Sikes in 1952; they married on New Year's Eve, 1954, and were married for more than 66 years. He began driving trucks for Hall Steel Company in Atlanta in 1959 and retired from the company (then Phoenix Metals) nearly 50 years later, in 2008. Bill was loved by all who knew him, and his death leaves a void that will not be filled. Billy is survived by his wife, Jeannette, two sons, Jeff and Stan, and sisters, Corine Deaton, Carolyn Holliday, and Peggy Deaton. A memorial service will be held in the coming months.
