BROUN, Jr., Charles C. "Buddy"
Charles C. "Buddy" Broun, Jr. passed away peacefully on August 20, 2021. Born on April 13, 1939 in Martinsville, VA, Buddy received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia. During the late 1970s Buddy left a successful career in mortgage banking in North Carolina and Atlanta to pursue building, developing and managing affordable and conventional multi-family housing throughout Georgia.
Buddy was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Broun, and older sister Elizabeth Munford. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Brenda; his sister Carolyn Faison; sons Charles, III (Holly) and Robert; grandchildren Logan, Riley, Ethan and Caleb; nephews Johnny and Charles Munford; and nieces Page Kolligian, Virginia McMullan, Carolyn Rankin, Lisa Robinson and Bebe Holcombe.
Buddy was a true Virginia gentleman. Exuberant and outgoing, he made friends wherever he went. Adventurous and fun-loving, Buddy enjoyed travel, including long motorcycle trips in the U.S. and abroad. Loyal and caring, Buddy formed deep and long-lasting friendships, including those within his beloved group of running and walking partners.
A celebration of Buddy's life will be held with close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
