Lois Hamilton Bowden passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Lois was born on August 7, 1924 to William and Jessie Hamilton in Daytona Beach, FL.
Visitation will be held at the Harvest Baptist Church located at 642 Old Phoenix Road, NE in Eatonton, GA 31024, Friday, September 10, 2021 at 10 AM with a funeral service immediately following at 11 AM. A graveside service will be held 3 PM at Crest Lawn Memorial Park located at 2000 Marietta Boulevard, NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lennon Bowden, her daughter Carolyn Leach and her granddaughter Kimberly Smith. She is survived by her children, Jeff (Laura) Bowden, Linda Phillips and son-in-law Andy Leach; grandchildren, Angela Miller, Andrew (Julie) Leach, Robert (Serena) Smith, Rhonda Findley, Dana Brooks, Amanda Williamson, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Lois was a Godly woman with such a giving heart. She was the epitome of a Proverbs: 31 woman. She loved and lived by God's word and time with her family was of utmost importance. Her favorite pastime was playing the organ, singing old hymns around the house and with the church choir, sitting in the swing by the lake watching the sunset and visits to the beach. The life-changing impact she made on all who knew her, inspires us to live life with purpose. We rest in the fact that she is with Jesus and we will see her again.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her memory to her church that she loved so much: Harvest Baptist Church, 642 Old Phoenix Road, NE in Eatonton, GA 31024.
