Vivian Beard, age 78 of Marietta, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021. She married John David Beard on September 7, 1963. He preceded her in death, as did her son Joseph Allen Beard, and brothers and sisters John Schmidt, Sr Elora Schmidt, Hubert Schmidt, and Edith Bordenkecher. Surviving are her daughters Pam (Paul) Bailey of Smyrna, Paula (Scott) Kelly of Lawrenceville, sister Kathryn Berger of Indianapolis, IN, grandchildren Madison Bailey (26), Jena Kelly (24), Meredith Bailey (24), Shauna Bailey (24), and Laura Kelly (22), many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Beard was a homemaker and a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church.
Vicki loved her family and enjoyed watching all of her granddaughters' activities. She enjoyed walking with her neighbors and friends. She was an avid bridge player, liked completing her puzzles and reading books.
Those that were fortunate enough to spend time with Vicki loved her for her spunky and honest personality. In her younger years she loved playing tennis.
Her entire family, daughters, son-in-laws, granddaughters and others were fortunate to be able to spend Christmas with Vicki at her home. She maintained her personality and alertness until she succumbed to cancer a week later.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna. A funeral mass will be held 10 am Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
