A Northgate High School student has been arrested in connection with Wednesday's bomb threat that prompted officials to evacuate the school for several hours.

Students were bused to another location following the 10:21 a.m. threat, and returned to Northgate later in the afternoon after deputies searched the school and sounded the all-clear.

Wednesday night, Coweta County sheriff’s deputies arrested 17-year-old Brandon Dale Hammond, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Col. Jimmy Yarbrough told Channel 2 Action News.

Hammond was charged as an adult with making terroristic threats and disrupting a public school.
