On April 3, 1961 a plane bound for Santiago, Chile carrying 34 people vanished somewhere over the Andes.
On board were eight members of the Green Cross soccer team including their coach Arnaldo Vasquez. The plane was returning home following a match in Osorno, Chile.
A group of climbers found the wreckage and parts of the now-destroyed DC-3 were shown on Chilean television on Sunday. It's estimated that the plane crashed about 190 miles south of Santiago, but climbers do not want to reveal the exact location to prevent desecration of the crash site.
