Kevin Tarbox, 47, was arrested Friday and charged with operating while intoxicated, according to a statement from the Racine County Sheriff's Office.

A Racine County deputy saw a Jeep Wrangler speed past him on the highway, according to the statement. The Jeep was weaving in and out of traffic despite snowy conditions and being in a construction zone, the statement said.

The Sheriff’s Office said the deputy paced the Jeep at 100 mph. The speed limit was 60 mph.

The deputy stopped the Jeep and had Tarbox complete a field sobriety test. Tarbox was subsequently arrested.

Police discovered Tarbox had a revoked driver's license and seven prior operating while intoxicated convictions dating back to 1994, the latest being in 2015, according to the statement. Tarbox was also on probation for his latest OWI conviction.

"We are all breathing a sigh of relief tonight that he didn’t seriously injure or kill an innocent person(s),” said Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling.
