Volusia County Beach Safety said another man was bitten by a shark in New Smyrna Beach. This marks the third person bitten by a shark in the past two days.
Capt. Mike Berard said that just before 3 p.m. Sunday, a 68-year-old man from Nashville, Tennessee, was bitten by a shark on his right foot.
The man said he was standing knee-deep in the water when a shark came up and bit him.
Berard said the man sustained minor lacerations and was bandaged by officials. He refused transport to the hospital.
On Saturday afternoon, two surfers were bitten by a shark.
Berard said a 20-year-old female surfer was the first victim. She was bitten by a shark on her left hand and wrist.
She was transported to Halifax Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Berard said.
Moments later, a 21-year-old male surfer from Crystal Beach walked up to the units on the scene and showed them a shark bite to his right foot.
Berard said he was treated on the scene with bandages and refused transport.
No other details have been made available about the sharks in question.
