There will be no charges filed against the veterinarian who allegedly posted a Facebook photo of herself holding a dead cat with an arrow through its head and bragging about killing it.

The post has since been removed, but the veterinarian allegedly wrote on the Facebook post, “My first bow kill, lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through its head! Vet of the year award ... Gladly accepted."

The photo outraged many on social media for what was perceived to be animal cruelty and abuse.

MyFoxSanAntonio reports that a Texas grand jury has returned a "no-bill" in the case of Dr. Kristen Lindsey, meaning that there was insufficient evidence to charge the veterinarian with a crime. The Austin County District Attorney's office said in a press release that there was no proof that the photo was taken in Texas, and that cat hunting is legal in states like Wyoming.

The veterinarian was fired from her job at a local animal clinic shortly after the incident took place.

The cat that was killed was named Tiger, and had been missing at the time the photo surfaced. Community members say the cat was not feral, but belonged to an elderly couple.
