Surveillance footage shows Pulse patrons fleeing
Nearby surveillance video from the night of the Pulse nightclub mass shooting, released Friday on the website of the British tabloid "The Sun," appears to show the moments before police engaged shooter Omar Mateen.
In the 30-second clip, the footage shows men and women spilling out of the club from beneath an awning, fleeing in all directions, before six armed police officers storm the club.
Many patrons ran into the parking lot of the nearby Pro Tint & Detailing auto shop, where the camera appears to be perched.
Another angle shows an Orlando police officer joined by three Orange County sheriff’s deputies in what appears to be a back alley.
The Sun obtained the video from Storyful, an online company that buys and licenses video.
Storyful has shopped 10 hours of surveillance video as well as a digital map from the night of the Pulse nightclub shooting to media outlets.
It is offering the package deal at a cost of $10,000 to own the footage outright.
