Some 246,514 pounds of the frozen bacon, egg, cheese and potato wraps produced Jan. 17 and Jan. 18, are under recall, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The wraps in question are eight-pack family size El Monterey Egg, Potato, Bacon & Cheese Sauce Breakfast Wraps with “best if used by” dates of 1-17-20 and 1-18-20 and lot codes 19017 and 19018.

The wraps were shipped to stores across the country, the USDA said.

The problem was discovered Friday when three people called Ruiz Foods to report foreign material in the food product. The company is investigating.

The USDA is urging people to check their freezers for the wraps and to either throw them out or return them to the store where they were purchased.
