Raccoons have become unwanted guests at a Colorado apartment complex, and residents are trying to find a way to get rid of the pesky animals that have penetrated their attics and ceilings.
"They were just chattering. You could hear their claws," Aurora resident Corina Herrera told KDVR.

Herrera told the television station the raccoons became a problem two weeks after she moved into her Advenir at Del Arte Townhomes in Aurora. She said she could hear them making noises above her daughter's bedroom.

Simone Woodmore, another frustrated tenant,said she has been unable to get management to help with the situation.
"I went to the leasing office five times. I've called pest control in Aurora and Denver and they say they're not taking new cases unless they're physically in your home," Woodmore told KDVR. "I don't know what to do," she said. "I'm very frustrated because a raccoon can come in any day and that's scary. I don't want to sleep and wake up and look up and there's a raccoon hissing at me."
The woman at the front desk of the leasing office told KDVR they are working on the issue, adding that apartment officials cannot get rid of the animals until mating season is over.
