Two days after he announced executive actions aimed at curbing gun violence, President Barack Obama will appear on a nationally-televised town hall meeting to talk about them.

The president will take part in"Guns in America,” a program hosted by CNN Thursday night and moderated by Anderson Cooper. Obama will talk with Cooper about gun violence and take questions from a live audience at George Mason University.

The CNN appearance follows Obama's White House speech on Tuesday where he laid out 10 executive actions  for addressing gun violence in the United States.  Among them, "making clear that it doesn't matter where you conduct your business ...  if you are in the business of selling firearms, you must get a license and conduct background checks;" the establishment of an Internet Investigation Center to track illegal online firearms; a new $500 million investment to increase access to mental health care,  and an emphasis on "smart gun" technology - measures to improve gun safety.
