An officer with Jacksonville Sheriff's Office called police after he came home from work and found his back door kicked in around 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

He found blood smeared on a door, a large pool of blood on the floor and a shell casing, but his dog was not at the house.

The person who broke in stole the officer's 2010 Toyota Tacoma, two handguns and keys to a JSO patrol car, according to the report.

Officers said they saw the stolen truck leaving an apartment complex at approximately 10:45 p.m.

The driver fled and intentionally hit officers' patrol cars before hitting and knocking down a telephone pole, JSO said.

One suspect was arrested and a second fled on foot.

Officers said they found a gun inside the truck.

The dog has not been found.
