Texas man Ira Keys started saving pennies at the advice of his father.
According to WSB, in 1952, his dad said to him, "Whatever you do son, save your money."
So, he did just that, except he didn't have much cash, so all he could save were pennies. Over the course of 63 years, the now-81-year-old squirreled away more than 82,000 coins.
Last week, he decided to cash them in. At 500 pounds, his collection nearly broke his truck, but he only went home $816 richer.
But this is not the end of Keys' penny-saving habits. He plans to start again from scratch.
