Urim Osmani was opening up his auto repair shop when he thought he saw a deer Saturday morning.
Turns out it was a kangaroo.
Buster escaped from an unlocked gate from a house in Staten Island, according to The New York Times.
"It was running around like crazy and we didn't want it to get hit by a car," Osmani told The New York Times.
Officers corralled the 3 ½ foot marsupial and he was "taken into custody without incident" after about 15 minutes, the Times reported.
It looked like a lot of fun.
"To see a kangaroo jumping around," Osmani told CBS New York. "Enjoying the freedom."
