Identical twin brothers to be born months apart

Oct 19, 2015

Doctors expect a set of identical twins will be born months apart.

Link is currently in the NICU of a Washington hospital. He was born in September at just 1 pound, 2 ounces. His mother, Holli Gorveatt, was 23 weeks pregnant when he was born.

His identical twin brother, Logan, is still in his mother’s womb. If all goes well, Logan will be born in January. The babies had a rare complication called twin-twin transfusion syndrome.

When Gorveatt went into early labor, doctors at the Washington hospital delivered one baby while the other stayed in the womb.

“Logan’s good. So he’s growing a lot and he’s just kicking. He’s got fluid, he can move around,” said Gorveatt.

Link is still too fragile to be held, but he’s getting stronger every day.
