search is underway for a Florida man accused of sexually assaulting a teenager and killing another girl, according to authorities.

Sumter County Deputies received a call Sunday afternoon from the Tavares Police Department asking them to check on the well-being of a 16-year-old girl at a home in Bushnell, Florida.

Deputies found the teenager dead inside the home, investigators said. Her name or a cause of death have not been released.

Deputies are searching for Larry Darnell Peavy, 35, who was last seen driving a gray 1997 Nissan Sentra with license plate number 2295UJ.

Peavy brought the two girls to the home for a party, sexually assaulted one of them and killed the other girl, deputies said.

Peavy then drove the surviving sexual assault victim to Lake County where she contacted detectives, investigators said.

Anyone with information on Peavy's whereabouts is asked to contact the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.
