Actress Natasha Richardson died on March 18 following skiing accident. She was 45.

Bea Arthur, an icon of TV as the star of "Maude" and "Golden Girls", died April 26 at age of 86.

Actor Dom DeLuise died May 5 after a longtime battle with cancer. He was 75.

Actor David Carradine was found dead in a Bangkok, Thailand, hotel room on June 4. Carradine starred as Kwai Chang Caine in the 1970s television series "Kung Fu."

"Tonight Show" sidekick and TV pitchman Ed McMahon (left) died June 23 after a bout with cancer. He was 86.

Renowned "King of Pop" Michael Jackson died June 25 after going into cardiac arrest in his home. He was 50.

Actress Farrah Fawcett, best-known for "Charlie's Angels" stardom, died June 25. She had been battling cancer on and off for three years. She was 62.

Boisterous pitchman Billy Mays, 50, was found unresponsive in his Tampa, Fla., home on June 28.

Actor Karl Malden, who won an Academy Award for his role in "A Streetcar Named Desire," died July 1 at age 97.

Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair was killed July 4 by his 20-year-old girlfriend in a murder-suicide incident.

Walter Cronkite, longtime "CBS Evening News" anchor died July 17 after a long illness. He was 92.

Director and screenwriter John Hughes, who was most known for hits "The Breakfast Club" and "Sixteen Candles" died Thursday Aug. 6 of a heart attack. He was 59.

Sen. Ted Kennedy, known as the "liberal lion of the Senate" died Aug. 25 after a more than year-long battle with brain cancer at the age of 77.

Patrick Swayze, the hunky actor who danced his way into viewers' hearts with "Dirty Dancing" and then broke them with "Ghost," died Sept. 14 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

Ken Ober, best known as host of the MTV game show 'Remote Control' in the '80s, was found dead at his home on November 15. He was 52.

Charismatic televangelist Oral Roberts died of complications from pneumonia on Dec. 15 at age 91.

Actress Brittany Murphy, known for her roles in 'Clueless,' '8 Mile' and 'Happy Feet,' died Dec. 20 of natural causes. She was 32.
