Doctor expects Trump’s ‘safe return to public engagements’ Saturday

Trump returns to White House after being discharged from hospital

President Donald Trump’s physician said he anticipates his return to public engagements by Saturday, citing how long since Trump tested positive for the coronavirus and his response to treatment for the virus.

Dr. Sean Conley made the announcement in a Thursday evening memo.

“Saturday will be day 10 since Thursday’s diagnosis, and based on the trajectory of advanced diagnostics the team has been conducting, I fully anticipate the President’s safe return to public engagements at that time,” Conley said.

He also said Trump “completed his course of therapy for COVID-19 as prescribed by his team of physicians.”

Last week, Trump spent multiple days at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. While there, he received the experimental Regeneron antibody cocktail, which Trump claimed cured him.

There is no known cure for COVID-19 as of now.

Upon his return on Monday, Trump was seen appearing to struggle to breathe when posing for photos maskless outside the White House.

The coronavirus has killed more than 212,000 Americans.
