In April, what appeared to be another residential house fire turned into a potential homicide case when a man pulled from the flames was found to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to authorities.

Wednesday, Jeremy Middleton was arrested and charged with homicide in the case, police said.

On Saturday, April 12, Atlanta firefighters responded to a house fire at the 500 block of Jones Avenue and located a man inside.

When police saw the man’s gunshot wounds, he was taken to Grady Hospital, where he later died.

Middleton is being held at the Fulton County Jail.
