A zoning change in Peachtree City will allow a new mixed-use development on 8.8 acres in the Glenloch area.

The City Council unanimously approved a limited-use commercial designation for property off Petrol Point on Nov. 7. The plan includes up to 35 single-family homes ranging from about 1,600 to 3,300 square feet whose design will be similar to those in the North Cove neighborhood in northern Peachtree City. There will also be 10 mixed-use commercial lots with residential space above them, plus a 5,000-square-foot building with a coffee shop or deli on the main floor and office space above. The third component will be six small bed-and-breakfast cottages that will share a central community space and kitchen.

The entire development will be connected to the city’s multi-use path system, and Planning and Development Director Robin Cailloux said the city expects no significant impact on local traffic density, schools or utilities.
