A 10-year-old Gwinnett County girl was in critical condition Friday afternoon after being hit by a daycare bus, according to police.
The girl, whose name was not released, was hit Friday morning as she tried to cross Brentford Lane near Holly Brook Road, Cpl. Deon Washington with Gwinnett police said. Police were called shortly after 8 a.m. to the intersection, located near Brookwood Elementary School.
Witnesses told police the driver of a Primrose Schools bus was traveling south on Holly Brook Road, Washington said. As the driver turned left onto Brentford Lane, the girl entered the roadway and was hit, police said.
The girl was taken by helicopter to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she was in critical condition Friday afternoon, Washington said.
Neither the bus driver nor a passenger was injured. The driver was not cited, Washington said.
