Much to the relief of ducks and boaters, construction and maintenance work on Lake Peachtree and Lake Kedron in Peachtree City is nearing an end and both bodies will see water levels rise soon.

The city reported last week that Lake Peachtree remains lowered for the final grading and trenching related to removal of the temporary cofferdam, but the valve will be closed as soon as possible to allow the lake to begin refilling. Road work on McIntosh Trail is complete from Peachtree Parkway to the Public Works building, and the remaining work will be done after the heavy equipment is removed from the new spillway area.

Lake Kedron is already refilling following bridge maintenance, but does so more slowly because it is deeper than Lake Peachtree and must still release water downstream.
