The Woodstock City Council has approved a request for variances to redevelop the Chick-fil-A Dwarf House restaurant on Ga. 92 with a new concept eatery.

In granting variances for the proposed Truett’s Chick-fil-A restaurant, the council granted the existing number of parking spaces, 93, to remain, even though it is roughly double the maximum of 47 spaces allowed for the 2-acre site; and a 40-inch modesty panel to shield diners seated inside instead of a 24-inch knee wall around the base of the building.

The restaurant, named for Chick-fil-A’s founder, Truett Cathy, will replace the Dwarf House on the site, 9728 Highway 92.

The new building will be about 6,900 square feet in size, 500 square feet larger than the former one; and have a longer, 28-car queue, moved to start at the rear of the site to eliminate pedestrian conflicts with the prior design, according to a Woodstock staff report to the council.
