Woodstock OKs alcohol sales at upcoming concerts

The Woodstock City Council has approved temporary alcohol licenses for a veterans’ benefit, the city’s Summer Concert Series and other events in the coming months at the Northside Hospital Cherokee Amphitheater on Arnold Mill Road downtown.

Chastain Concessions LLC, doing business as Premier Events, the approved alcohol vendor at the amphitheater, got permission to sell beer, wine and mixed drinks at the Ghost Army Fest.

The benefit concert for the Veterans Empowerment Organization and Cherokee County Homeless Vets is scheduled for 4 to 9 p.m., April 7. Between 2,000 and 4,000 people are expected to attend, according to Premier’s license application.

The same permission was granted to Premier for the Taste & Sound of Woodstock, April 22; the Bacon and Banjos Festival, May 19; and the Woodstock Summer Concert Series, May 12, June 9, July 14, Aug. 11 and Sept. 9. Up to 10,000 people are expected at each event.
