The Woodstock City Council has approved a temporary alcohol license for Bacon & Banjos, a bluegrass music festival with a pork-infused theme at the Northside Hospital Cherokee Amphitheater.

The Southern Air Pros food and music event is set for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18, with a portion of funds benefiting the Woodstock Public Safety Foundation, according to a Woodstock Parks & Recreation announcement. Admission is $5 at the gate.

Scheduled acts include Cedar Hill, Dixie Jubilee, The Wiseman Brothers and Honeywood with Iron Horse of Killen, Ala., and the Songs from the Road Band of Ashville, N.C.

The event also will offer restaurants, vendors and a craftsman alley "with rustic creations for sale," officials said. Sponsorships and craftsman vendor spots will be available through April 18. Information: Jamey Snyder at jsnyder@woodstockga.gov or https://bit.ly/2Fu6rHz
