The Woodstock City Council has approved plans for the second annual Reformation Brewery 5K race to promote the brewery and city and benefit the Greenprints Alliance trail organization.

About 700 people are expected at the race, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 2, according to event planner IWeLife. The organizer's EventBrite page says the route starts downtown, travels primarily over the Noonday Trail, and finishes at a beer garden with live music and food. Market Street will be closed downtown.

“Last year the event sold out, and to allow for more participants we’ll separate into two courses, which will make the turnaround point less crowded,” the organizers said. “Both routes will be measured for 3.1 miles and count for finish awards.”

The first 300 runners will take the same course as last year, while runners 301 and above will be diverted onto a second section. “Both courses join back up again at the split for the same route to the finish line.”
